Here are some tips from those who remain active throughout the hot season

Drink The Right Thing

There are many drink options available to us. Hydration is a serious concern when the temperatures swell but be careful not to go for the wrong drinks. It turns out sugary, caffeinated and alcoholic drinks can make it harder for your body to stay hydrated. These drinks can be a double trick. You feel good for drinking, but elements like sugar can actually draw water out of the cells and make you need to pee more often. Caffeine can do a similar trick on your body and alcohol is a diarrhetic which can pull liquids out of your body. So look for quality hydration options, coconut water is a popular choice these days that you might try and you also might need to look for drinks that can restore your electrolytes.

Go Vampire

Many active members of our overheated community are flipping their schedules as it were. If you have the flexibility, consider waking up early or working after the day star decides to finally take a nap and give us the glory of nighttime. If you are able, you will see many of your neighbors doing the same thing as the parks and courts bulge in the cooler times of the day.

Include Water

Not just drinking, remember that you can cool yourself with a spritzer bottle or even a swim. As you plan outdoor activities include water of some sort to keep those extreme temperatures to a minimum.
