What’s Utah’s Pizza? We Need a Signature Dish
Governor Phil Murphy has taken aim at Connecticut’s new highway signs proudly declaring the state as home to "America's pizza capital," and he's not having it.
In a playful Twitter spat with Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, Murphy made his position clear: New Jersey has the best pies. “You’re not even the pizza capital of the tri-state area,” he tweeted, poking fun at Connecticut’s bold claim.
But Lamont’s got some backup. Officially, Connecticut has a leg to stand on—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro got a statement into the Congressional Record last May, officially recognizing New Haven as the Pizza Capital of the U.S.
I love how the northeast keeps fighting over the best pizza, it makes me wonder what Utah and neighboring states could fight over.
Possibly fry sauce, between Utah and Idaho, but I don't know of any other states that would fight us for the title.
What about Green Valley watermelon? I know the west is good for watermelon growth, but I think we could make a stand with a Green Valley quality product.
One I love is the scone, clearly the Utah scone is superior to the England scone. Utah-style scones are deep-fried pieces of dough served with honey butter. They’re golden, pillowy, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Utahns could challenge any outsider who confuses them with traditional scones.

Here is the deal though, we are going to have to make a stand and declare the title is ours, no more nice Utahn who wants to melt into the background, NO we are going to have to own it like New Jersey and Connecticut.
