Utah Goes Against Almost the Entire Nation in Best Fries Survey

When it comes to the popular French fry served at fast food outlets across America, Utah finds itself standing almost alone on what franchise they think makes the best. Only Rhode Island agreed with Utah that waffle cut fries are better.

America’s Favorite Fries: McDonald's Dominance

High Risk Pay surveyed people across America and asked what fries were best and what fast food franchise served them. By a wide margin most Americans said they liked their fries thin and straight and McDonald's is the place to get them.

Utah however, put Chic-fil-A and their waffle cut fries on top of the list. This is pretty bold stuff for a state that would rather blend in with the majority. The rest of the country also prefers ketchup to dip their fries in. I'm guessing Utah differed here as well.

Dip It Your Way: Utah’s Sauce Preference

They didn't say what Utahn's want for dipping, but fry sauce was preferred by 8% of those surveyed. I bet a lot of that was due to Utah responses. It also might be why the waffle fry is preferred in Utah as you can get more fry sauce on those babies.

Second to McDonald's fries was Five Guys fries, and I can see that as they are generous with how many they stuff in that cup. Arby's curly fries showed up as number one in Washington and Alaska. And South Carolina preferred Bojangles' offering.
