Utah might need to borrow a great idea from North Carolina. Imagine this: a park at the end of the runway at our airport where you can watch airplanes take off and land.

First things first, Utahns love their family time. Whether it's exploring Zion National Park or navigating the latest pioneer park on a Saturday, Utah families are always up for an adventure. Now, what if we combined that adventurous spirit with a touch of high-flying excitement? Picture a place where you don’t have to worry about TSA lines or lost luggage but can still enjoy the thrill of aviation as it flies overhead.

This proposed park, let’s call it "Sky-High Utah," would be an aviation lover’s dream. Inspired by North Carolina’s 600,000-square-foot overlook area near the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, our park would feature a sprawling park underneath the modern miracle of flight. From here, families could gaze at planes taking off and landing, silhouetted against the beautiful Utah Skyline.

Fun for the Whole Family

Utah’s fondness for family outings would make Sky-High Utah the ultimate destination. We’d have mini replica control towers where kids could play air traffic controller, barking orders like, “Delta 154, you’re clear for landing… right after I finish my juice box.” Meanwhile, parents could relax in comfortable seats designed to look like first-class airline seats (with actual leg room).

Soaring High on Fun

We all know Utahns love the joy of flight, whether it’s paragliding over Point of the Mountain or simply hopping on a flight to Disneyland. This park would capture that joy without the need for an actual boarding pass. Utahns could experience the excitement of planes taking off, without the stress of making sure Aunt Martha didn’t leave her boarding pass at the Cinnabon.

And remember, in the immortal words of every flight attendant ever, “Sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight.” Or in this case, enjoy the view, the fun, and the family memories at Sky-High Utah.
