Utah #1 In The Nation For Middle Class
The arguments for a strong middle class are numerous. Not that this is conclusive, but I can’t think of a time when I have ever heard an argument that showed the downside of a strong middle class.
Well, guess which state has the highest middle-class population? You got it right, Utah. I was talking to a friend today about the growth in Utah and the many areas that are exploding with development. While it is a hard pill to swallow sometimes, our strong middle class might be a big reason for the growth.
Utah remains the state with the highest percentage of middle-class households, defined as those with an annual income between $60,000 and $149,999. With 46.62% of households falling into this category, Utah leads the nation. Additionally, Utah boasts the second-most equitable income distribution, with a Gini index of 0.42 (0 indicates perfect equality and 1 indicates perfect inequality), indicating a more equal distribution of income compared to other states.
The list continues with the following states: 2. Idaho 3. New Hampshire 4. Minnesota 5. Colorado

According to Forbes, here are a few positive side effects of a strong middle class that I think represent Utah very well:
Higher Levels of Education
I know that many states value higher education, but Utah is certainly one that encourages higher education for any class of student.
Economic Development with a Skilled Workforce
I remember being told that Utah is a great place to live, but difficult for young professionals due to a lack of opportunities. It seemed that many Utah businesses made this observation, as Utah has grown into a haven for healthy businesses and opportunities.
More Charitable Opportunities
This one is tailor-made for Utah. Our great state has cherished charity since its beginning, and it seems that the strength of her economy has only enhanced our generosity.
Utah's strong middle class is a testament to the power of economic stability and opportunity, driving growth and creating a thriving community.
