Cooler weather and some monsoon moisture is making it to Southern Utah. In our excitement to go enjoy some fall weather it can be easy to overlook the watering program we set in the summer for the sprinklers.

Washington County Water Conservancy District Watering Recommendations

Now is the time to take a minute to look at your timer and make adjustments with the cooler weather. If you are not sure about how much the grass needs according to temperatures, the Water Conservancy District can help.

The recommendation for September and heading into October is to water three days a week. Think of getting the water to soak deeper into the grass so that the roots grow deep. This will make your trees and grass stronger and use less water.

You can see all the recommendations for the year with sprinklers and drip systems on the WCWCD website. There is a ton of great information for saving water.

Smart Timers and Zero Landscaping

There are other ways to save money and water. A smart controller will keep track of rain days and how soaked the ground is. Because it saves water, The Utah Division of Water Resources has a rebate program to help you pay for it.

You can also get help to remove grass an replace is with water efficient landscaping. This incentive program offers up to $3 per square feet of grass removed. You can find the details here.
