Save Money On These Groceries Right Now In Utah
You may have noticed the last time you went to the pump that gas has come down some here in Southern Utah. Triple A says the average is at $3.87 down from $4.11 a month ago. This is going in the right direction.
The short term forecast for the price of a barrel of oil looks good from now until December, showing it should drop by another $10 possibly. Considering it is the time for Holiday travel, a continued decrease would be great.
Gas isn’t the only thing going down. The prices on some groceries have declined since September. It finally seems inflation is starting to chill some. With the higher interest rates, these trends should continue. It may cost more to buy a house or a car, but on the positive side, inflation is finally slowing.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics provides data on several different grocery categories. With the price of gas lowering and groceries not rising as much, this will give a little needed room for people’s budgets. Heading into the holidays, that could mean a lot.
The scary thing is, I'm getting used to the higher prices. I now take it for granted that just looking into Costco will cost me $100 these days. However, a trip to the gas pumps isn't quite as scary as a month ago.
What follows is a look at grocery categories coming down specifically in our part of the country. Start your shopping in these areas and maybe you won't have to take out a loan on Thanksgiving dinner.
