This Small Town Near the Great Salt Lake Boasts Some Impressive Incomes
Where do you think the richest small town in Utah is? If you think somewhere around Park City, you are right. There are some rich areas in Summit County. But for a real small town with the highest monthly income, look towards the Great Salt Lake.
The Small Town with the Highest Average Income is in Toole County
Established in 1854 and named E.T. City after Ezra T. Benson who helped organized the first branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint in the area, this small town struggled until a canal was made to bring irrigation to the fields.
In 1923 it was renamed as Lake Point and it currently has a population of 2,762 people according to this Utah Demographics site. Although small, the median income is an impressive 133,175 and the average income is $267,093.
Mostly a rural farming community there are some recently built neighborhoods with some beautiful homes sitting on some big plots of land. Lake Point is just a half hour from Salt Lake and is beginning to get people’s attention.
Lake Point Days Features a Parade, Car Show and Fireworks
This is a small town with the laid back vibe. In June they celebrate Lake Point Days with a couple of days of fun. I-80 runs through the area and that is where you will find places to eat like Taco Bell and Burger King.
Of course, with Toole and Grantsville nearby and a quick jump on the freeway to get to Salt Lake, this is small town living with big city options not too far away. It came to my attention when I was traveling back from Idaho this summer.
