If You Have Overlooked This Pizza Place in St. George, It’s Time To Try It
If you haven’t tried Sandtown Pizza on Bluff St in St. George here’s what I found when I visited. It is a couple blocks down from Smiths where there once had been a fire. It has been rebuilt with a kind of city feel that matches with some really good pizza.
Local Ingredients Bring Well Balanced Tastes to Life
The crust can really make a pizza and the sourdough at Sandtown was great. It is hand tossed and so it isn’t perfectly even or round which I think makes the texture better. I ate every bit of the crust because it was that good.
They use some local ingredients that make it taste fresh. We had the Sandtown Verde with mozzarella and house sausage, pesto and roasted mushrooms. It all tasted good together and the sausage made it. It was light and full of flavor.
Creating a Well Thought Out Experience
You can tell when a place likes what they are doing and that’s how it felt going to Sandtown Pizza. The restaurant has black and white tiles that give a trendy feel. There’s an open kitchen where you can see the dough getting tossed and the walls are decorated with pictures.
There are a lot of little things that make it feel thought out and fun. The servers get silverware from a toolbox. There is water in a chilled jar on each table. When we were there on a Saturday there was a Dj playing music.

It was a little hard to have a conversation with the music, but the staff was helpful and friendly. For as good as the pizza was, it wasn’t expensive. I am looking forward to trying more of what Sandtown has to offer.
