Recall Alert: This Gift Could Injure People in Utah
If you got a blender for Christmas that makes smoothies, you may want to check the brand as there is a recall on one that is causing injuries. The BlendJet was sold nationwide, and the company has announced a recall after more than 50 injuries from defective parts.
There were 4.8 million of them sold that are now determined to be defective. They can cause fires, but that’s not all, the blades can come off causing injury. If you have one of these blenders, they say you should not turn it on. Pack it up for a refund.
This from the Consumer Product Safety Commision:
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled blenders and contact BlendJet for a free replacement of the BlendJet 2 base unit. Consumers will need to remove and cut the rubber seal from the base of their recalled blender into three or more pieces and upload or email a photo showing the serial number on the bottom of the unit and its rubber seal in pieces to BlendJet at www.blendjet.com/safetyandrecall or safety@blendjet.com to receive a free replacement base.
The blenders were sold at Costco, Walmart, Target as well as other locations going back to 2020. Here in Utah, we love to eat healthy. This portable blender is a cool idea and a popular gift. You should check to make sure family friends are aware of the recall.
It seems there are lots of recalls all the time and sometimes we get numb to hearing about a new one. However, when it is something that can start a fire in your house or cause damage from sharp blades, your ears should perk up.
