Pro Baseball In Utah

Major League Baseball plans on expanding the number of teams and Utah is one of the places possibly on the list.

Nashville remains the clear-cut favorite for one team, while the second city remains wide-open between Montreal, Salt Lake City, Oakland, Portland and Charlotte. The expansion fee is expected to be $2.1-$2.2 billion.

I have seen plenty of speculation on what the team's name would be should they locate to the beehive state. I've even wracked my brain for something unique and cool. Maybe the "Wasatch" or the "Inversions" but nothing that really clicked.

Here is the list from DJ from Cat Country:

Bees, Buzz or the Sting

As the Bees are already a pro team, these could work. The stingers would look good on a uniform.

Pioneers, Outlaws or the Seagulls

These tie into the local history of the state. If it was the Outlaws you could make the pinstripes bigger like bars.

Bison, Saints or Raptors

Teams from other sports that would fit in Utah. If you used the Saints, you would have to add Latter-Day to it.

This is the one

These are all fine, but I haven’t heard a serious mascot name that excited me...that is until today. I think this is freaking awesome and frankly kind of brilliant.

All credit to Jackson, he is a genius.

I’m not sure about the colors, but I’m all in on the Shredders. It might be because I grew up on skis or maybe it reminds me of the guy who battled the Ninja Turtles.  I’m ready to purchase a jersey and season tickets. Where do I sign?
