What Do Native Peoples Believe About Skinwalkers?

At Navajo Traditional Teachings, Wally Brown shares insights into the teachings of the Navajo people or as they call themselves, the Dine'. One of the topics many ask about is who the Skinwalkers are and what they do.

Brown says his people do not like to talk about them because their purpose is to distract. Talking about them only furthers their work. He says they are people that have power between those on the earth and the demons. He says they always attack the family.

Skinwalkers are people, or as he says five fingered beings, who have knowledge of the dark side and visit between the worlds in spirit form. He says they have a lot of control over our current world. They work with the demons to distract us from the good things.

We Always Have a Choice

You can choose to turn to the holy people or towards the evil one according to Brown. He says aliens and bigfoot are real because we make them real. They are a distraction and when we focus on those things they move us away from the important work in our lives.

He goes on to describe how there are those that further the work of the evil one and are given power to influence us. They, with the demons, have power through four different kinds of attacks. They can inflict physical ailments on people when we are weak.
