It is heading into the cool time of the year and that means all the creepy crawly insects will be looking for a warm place to hunker down. Here’s a simple solution that will keep all the spiders roaming through your yard from making their way inside.

Spiders Have Sensory Organs to Get Around

There are small hairs and small slits on spider’s legs that let them feel vibrations and detect smells. They use these to navigate the area. If something causes these to not work properly, the spider will quickly leave.

White vinegar is perfect for jamming these sensors and can be used to keep spiders away from your home. It is a non-toxic way to keep all your eight-legged friends in the yard where they belong.

Here’s How to Use White Vinegar to Defend Your Space

Grab a spray bottle and fill it halfway with water and then the rest of the way with white vinegar. Give it a good shake and then spray around doorways and windows. You can also hit any dark corners where you suspect spiders may be hiding.

You can also spray walkways or leave small containers with the concoction near the doorway. Spiders will leave the areas where the white vinegar smell is floating around. It is safe and won’t hurt your pets if they get into it.

This is an easy solution that will take very little time to accomplish. If the smell is too strong, you can add orange peels to the spray and give it a citrus scent. This won’t solve all your bug problems, but it can help with the spider kind.
