The Places In Utah Your Family Needs To Hit Up This Summer!
Utah is OBVIOUSLY renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and natural wonders, and at the heart of this rugged state lie five extraordinary NATIONAL PARKS collectively known as the "Mighty Five." Each park has its own unique charm, giving visitors a chance to put themselves in the awe-inspiring beauty of the American Southwest. Here's my in-depth look at our 5 National Parks that you should visit this summer!
Arches National Park:
You've probably seen photos of Arches National Park before, or at least seen our very famous license plate of the arch. You've also probably seen the arch on the past Utah Jazz court. ANP has over 2,000 natural sandstone arches! TWO THOUSAND! These arches have been made from erosion and MILLIONS of years too. Plus, there's some beautiful hiking trails that people come from all over the world to visit. The crazy part is... I'VE NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE!
Canyonlands National Park:
Canyonlands National Park is located on the Eastern side of Utah AND it's Utah's LARGEST National Park with over 337,598 acres of land and water to explore! You're going to be TOTALLY CAPTIVATED by the rugged canyons, mesas, and buttes shaped by the Colorado River. While there, you can do activities like white-water rafting, mountain biking, and hiking! Once again... I'VE NEVER BEEN!
Capitol Reef National Park:
This is now the THIRD National Park in my home state that I've never been to! It's definitely the lesser-known gem of National Parks in Utah. But it hides ancient geological wonders, including the Waterpocket Fold, a 100-mile-long monocline, showing off a blend of colors and textures. Discover the fascinating history of human presence in the area at Capitol Reef!
Bryce Canyon National Park:
I've definitely been to Bryce Canyon before, and it MIGHT be my favorite. MAYBE! There, you'll see a surreal landscape of hoodoos and amphitheaters carved by ice and water over MILLIONS of years. Marvel at the vibrant hues of the rock formations, especially during sunrise and sunset, as they create a mesmerizing spectacle of light and shadows. There's awesome trails and viewpoints where you can check our Bryce from different angles!
Zion National Park:
Of course, I've been to Zion before! It's a place of sheer SCARY cliffs, deep canyons, and lush greenery. See how the Virgin River shaped the park's famous slot canyons like The Narrows and enjoy the serenity of Emerald Pools! Zion is one of the most GORGEOUS places on the entire planet. It's definitely a place to see before you die!
Have you seen ALL of Utah's National Parks? I've only seen two of the five and I've lived in Utah my whole life! What is YOUR FAVORITE National Park here in Utah?
