SECOND CHANCE: St. George Little League Team BACK AT IT!
Last year, the Snow Canyon Little League team had all of Utah wrapped around their fingers! They made history as the VERY FIRST team from Utah to make to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. They were on top of the world as they represented Utah and the entire MOUNTAIN division for the United States. Unfortunately, tragedy struck the team during one of their first nights there. 12 year old, Easton Oliverson fell from his bunkbed and nearly passed away before a miracle saved him. The boys and girl from Snow Canyon didn't win a game in Williamsport, but with Easton's health hanging in the balance, the games seemed very insignificant.
Well, Snow Canyon is now TEAM UTAH! They're playing today, August 6th, at 1PM at the Mountain Regional Tournament in San Bernardino, CA. They'll be taking on Wyoming, with the loser of the game playing the loser of Nevada and Wyoming. The Nevada v. Wyoming game will be played first at 10AM. If Team Utah wins, they'll play the winner of Nevada and Montana on Tuesday. The winner of that game will be ONE WIN away from punching their ticket to Williamsport!
Team Utah has only a few players returning from last year's team. Brogan Oliverson, younger brother of Easton Oliverson is on the team again. Southern Utah, as well as the ENTIRE STATE of Utah will be cheering for this team, hoping lighting can strike twice! Keep following along here for updates on the games, and check ESPN for the possibility of the games being broadcasted. GO TEAM UTAH!
