HUGE Storm Bringing Snow, Rain, and a FREEZING TEMPS to Utah, California, & Nevada!
Ready or not, the chilly weather is about to hit Utah, California, and Nevada, bringing a mix of snow, rain, and cold temps! A cold front sweeping through the region is set to drop temperatures dramatically and dump snow in the higher elevations—so if you’re a fan of winter, you’re in luck!
Utah: Get Your Snow Shovels Ready!
Utah is about to see a major winter preview! The National Weather Service has forecasted a dramatic temperature drop of up to 30 degrees, with freezing conditions expected Friday and Saturday mornings. But that’s not all—snow is on the way! Starting late Thursday and into Friday, the northern mountain ranges will be covered in fresh snow. The Cottonwood Canyons could see 6-15 inches of the white stuff, while the Western Uintas might get buried with anywhere from 10 inches to two feet of snow. Even the southern mountains may wake up to a snowy Saturday morning. Looks like winter is arriving early!
California: A Mix of Rain and Snow
While Utah braces for a snowstorm, California’s getting a mixed bag of rain and snow. Northern California will see rain beginning on Thursday, with snow falling in the higher elevations of the northeast and near Lake Tahoe. If you’re up in those mountains, be ready for a snowy Thursday night—perfect for bundling up indoors!
Nevada: Rain, Snow, and Everything In Between
Nevada isn’t missing out on the action, either. Starting Thursday, northern Nevada will be hit with snow, while the eastern part of the state will get a good soaking of rain. By Thursday night, most of Nevada will be feeling the impact, with snow and rain spreading across the state. By Friday night, the worst of the storm should have moved on, but it’s going to be a wet and wild couple of days.
Winter Is Coming!
Whether you're in Utah prepping for feet of snow, California getting a mix of weather, or Nevada bracing for everything from rain to snow, it's time to break out the winter coats and get cozy! This cold front is bringing the first real taste of winter to the region, so stay safe, and enjoy the beauty of a snowy landscape—just don’t forget your hot cocoa!
