Is Your Family Eligible for Arizona’s $2,400 Payout? Find Out Now
What is the American Worker Rebate Act of 2025?
Families in Arizona are having a tough time making ends meet, but a little relief could be on the way if this bill passes Congress.
Your family could be getting a rebate check in the mail, courtesy of those hotly debated international trade tariffs.
What is a Trade Tariff?
In case you haven't been following the international drama, a trade tariff is a tax imposed on imported goods. Typically, tariffs are meant to protect domestic industries; they make foreign-made products more expensive to encourage consumers to buy local, or at least purchase products made in one's own country.
Eligible For Tax Rebate? How Much You'll Receive
As you've probably noticed, imposing trade tariffs can backfire, sowing discontent with international trade partners and adversaries alike. Tariffs can also lead to higher prices for consumers while they stoke the fires of trade wars, challenging international relationships, and potentially stalling economic growth.

Trump Tariffs Making Headlines
From day one of the Trump presidency, those controversial import taxes have made headlines. Like them or not, they've brought revenue into the United States and now Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri wants to return some of the profits to American families.
What is the American Worker Rebate Act?
The American Worker Rebate Act of 2025 is a bill currently being proposed in the U.S. Senate. If it passes, an Arizona family of four could receive a check of $2,400. The checks would be similar to the COVID-era stimulus check.
Not everyone would receive a check; however, Families would have to fall into the following criteria in order to be eligible.
Key Provisions to Receive a Rebate Check
For many Arizonans juggling rising grocery bills and utility costs, that kind of cash could be a lifeline—or at least a small breather. The bill was introduced after former President Trump floated the idea, considering $150 billion in tariff revenue has been collected this year.
- Rebate Amounts:
- Each adult and each dependent child would receive at least $600 each. That means a family of four could receive at least $2,400.
- If tariff revenues exceed current projections, the rebate amounts could increase.
- Eligibility Criteria:
- To qualify for the full rebate, individuals must have an annual income below $75,000, heads of household under $112,500, and couples filing jointly under $150,000.
- The rebate amount will decrease by 5% for each dollar earned above these thresholds. Ultimately, higher earners would not receive a check.

Why You Might Not Get a Rebate Check, Arizona
Not everyone's sold on the idea of giving money back to the American people. Critics believe the windfall should go toward paying down the national debt. Considering it now tops $36 trillion, the $150 billion in tariff revenue could make a small dent, at least.
Economists aren't warming to the idea, either. They warn that the rebates could make inflation worse. They also caution that the money could end up padding corporate profits if families might use the extra cash to pay off debt.
So, will it pass? Right now, it's anyone's guess. Would it really help Arizona families, or is this just another political trick to make taxpayers feel better about inflation? Only time will tell.
