Good Luck Finding Dr. Pepper Creamy Coconut in Southern Utah

A new Dr. Pepper flavor is hard to find in local stores. It has proved popular across the nation after its release, but especially in Utah, and Idaho where KSL reports that 60% of the creamy coconut flavor has been gobbled up. 

The story goes on to describe how the unexpected popularity of the drink has the supplier scrambling to keep up with demand. They are working to bring in supplies from other markets to bolster supplies. 

If You See It Anywhere, Buy Me Some 

My wife Tisha and her co-workers are fans of creamy coconut flavor. They have discovered the supplies leaving grocery store shelves and have a pact that if any of them see a place where it is stocked, they are to buy multiple cases for each other. 

On the way to a family reunion, we stopped at the Walmart in Ephraim. There was a stack of Dr. Pepper Creamy Coconut Zero and soon we were leaving the store with 12 cases of the soda. Sorry people of Sanpete County, your supply is now significantly reduced.

Hopefully, the good folks at Coca Cola distributing will get the supply and demand thing worked out. Otherwise, my wife may start selling her stash at a premium.  

I’m curious why Utah and Idaho love this flavor so much. Does the coconut just taste better in the Mountains? As a side note, the story from KSL says that Dr. Pepper will be testing out 40 or so different flavors in the coming years.
