Pawpaw fruit is green with brown spots and about the size of your palm. It tastes like banana with a hint of vanilla and mango. The flesh is creamy, and it makes great smoothies or is good to just open and eat.
The reason you don’t see this fruit in stores or outside places where it grows is because it is almost impossible to ship. The taste quickly begins to change when picked and bruises super easy.

Pawpaw Trees Need Care to Grow in Utah
You can’t pick up one of these trees at a local nursery. Most people order pawpaw plants online. It arrives as a dormant stick. You put the plant in a pot until it begins to get leaves and then transfer it to the ground.
They need to be planted in shade early on and they need consistent water. Even then, the plant can be temperamental. But if you have the knack of growing things, you will soon have something to show off.

Many people swear by the health benefits of pawpaw fruit. There are however studies that show too much pawpaw can be detrimental.
