Exciting News About Zion National Park’s East Entrance
Zion National Park is expanding and it will majorly improve the east side entrance into the park.
Whenever I enter Zion National Park from the east side, I feel like I am sneaking in the back door. The West side has visitors center, camping and adventure services, the east side features a little checkpoint house and while the ranger is nice, they don't have much more to offer than a map and a well wish. It's the entrance that features people U-turning cause they didn't want to go into the park or a long line to go in.
Get ready for a beautiful new East Zion Visitor Center, your official gateway to the majestic wonderland of Zion National Park from the east. With more travelers entering from the east side and to manage increased traffic the East Zion Visitor Center will be a welcome addition to the park.
It will be a 7,000 square foot facility, where the fun begins. From visitor orientation to Jr. Ranger programs, and even special community events, there will be something for everyone.
Picture yourself immersed in the awe-inspiring beauty of Zion with a large-format theater. And for all you green thumbs, the community garden will whisk you away into a world of agricultural excitement. The center will feature a park store with souvenirs and gifts from books and maps to park-themed treasures.
The need for this visitor center was identified in the Zion’s Foundation Document. With over 5 million park-goers and 1 million adventurers storming in from the east entrance annually, the demand for relief was clear.
