You Can Buy a Flight Right Now from SGU to LA

Flights to Los Angeles are now available to purchase, but they do not begin until September 26th. This is a big deal as this quick hop to the coast will give you options to fly to LAX and from there all over the world.

Maybe even more important, if you are visiting Los Angeles to go to the parks or beaches, you won’t have to sit in traffic starting around Barstow. This stretch of freeway is notoriously bad even when there isn’t an accident or construction to delay things.

Stopped Traffic on the Freeway is Hazardous

One hot June day several years ago, I was barreling down the freeway headed back to Southern Utah, when I came upon stopped traffic in front of me. I slammed the brakes and turned into the median like the cars ahead of me. I came within centimeters of the car’s bumper in front.

I know others who were not so lucky. Skipping the drive from Las Vegas to LA is well worth the money. The flight will leave every day from the St. George Regional Airport at 11:30 a.m. and you’ll be in California at noon. That is awesome compared to the drive.

It will return from Los Angeles International at 1:30 p.m. and arrive in St. George at 4 p.m. SkyWest has made these flights available with United and you can book them right now. Sorry, Baker and Barstow, but it will be great to fly over rather than drive through.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
