Celebrate Smart: Firework Rules Vary Across Nevada This Year
Are There Any Firework Regulations in Nevada?
Maybe you’ve had a similar experience: walking or driving through town on the night of the 4th of July, watching fireworks—big aerial fireworks with their booms and explosions. You notice that most of the big booms aren’t part of the official celebrations, but neighborhood freedom fests.

Firework Season
It's firework season which opens up a new arena of questions for those of us who are not regular firework incendiaries. A door that is not usually open has swung open, but not all the way. You are now burdened with the charge to have a big party, but not too big. How do you know what is appropriate to fire off?
The Seal of Approval
There is a trick in Nevada, look for the "Safe N Sane" label. These are legal to fire off in Clark County with a warning to make sure your area is clear of any fire dangers, people or dry fuel.
Now there are other spots that have more generous regulations, so check this out if you have a desire for more fire.
Where To Light Fireworks In Nevada
In general, you are not to ignite on streets or sidewalks, school grounds or any government properties including city, state or federal lands. Hmmm do cul-de-sacs count as streets?
Punishments Imposed For Lighting Illegally
Be aware: if you're tempted to go for it anyway, there are punishments for those who throw caution to the (hopefully not too strong) wind. Most of the time, police in Clark County will treat minor firework violations as a misdemeanor citation—you know, like a traffic ticket. Think of court dates, fines, and offending firework confiscation. However, more severe actions are available to those caught with substantial quantities or using reckless behavior.
