You Are Late For Valentine’s Day Already
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you are probably behind on your Valentine’s Day plans. That is according to The Sandpiper Restaurant manager, Jeff Keller.
Yeah, I know you are thinking, “But they haven’t even started lining the streets selling roses yet”. I know, I know, but according to Keller a lot of hot spot restaurants are already seeing their schedules filling up for Valentine's Day. He noted that it is generally a guy's holiday, and they tend to put things off.
I saw this advice a few years back and have heard multiple times that last minute means you don’t care. So, one year I decided to step up and put off procrastinating. I made arrangements early and it did go well, but I was surprised that I didn’t really get credit for planning early.
So the next year I planned even earlier. As the month opened up I was looking into restaurants and different parties that would work. Again, the plans went fine but I wasn’t sure I was getting extra credit.
Here is the secret. You don’t necessarily get extra points for early thinking.
I thought I would get props for breaking my procrastination, but guess what there is no way for her to know you planned way ahead unless you tell her. So if you have someone who likes surprises your early planning will go unnoticed.
So I guess the point is to know what delights your partner. Sometimes planning early just gets you a seat at the party.
