Congratulations to Lorraine who successfully navigated our virtual roundabout this morning and $100 in gas from Grass Creek Construction!

This coming Friday John & Dave give away $100 in gas on Star 98 thanks to the good folks at Grass Creek Construction. We're changing it up a bit by giving away free gas. We'll be playing a game called "Survive the Roundabout".

Navigating a Southern Utah Roundabout Can Be Tricky

Here's how the game will work. John & Dave will take a caller and they will approach our virtual roundabout to see if they can get out of it in three exits. If they are able to exit the roundabout successfully, they win the $100 gas card..

There could be diesels, RV's, joggers, construction, even dogs and ducks in the way the exit. If any of these are blocking the way out, the caller moves on to the next exit. Here's how it will sound on-air:

Friday Morning on Star 98 with John & Dave

JnD: (Take a caller at 435-986-9899) Hello caller are you ready to enter the roundabout?

Caller: I'm ready.

JnD: Alright you are now in the roundabout and approaching the first exit. (John & Dave will hit a random sound effect button and constructions sounds are heard)

Caller: Noooo.

JnD: Oh man, that exit is under construction. You have another chance. Here comes the second exit. (Hit random sound effect button and a dog barks) Watch out for the dog being walked!

Caller: Dang it.

JnD: Sorry, that dog was in the cross walk. You have one more exit. Here it comes... (Hit the random sound effect and a person audibly sighs) You did it!

Caller: Yay!

JnD: You survived the roundabout. And you just won $100 in gas from Grass Creek Construction.

Hopefully that helps you see how it will play out. If the caller doesn't get through in three tries, we will take another contestant until we get a winner. Listen Friday morning starting at 7:10 AM and get ready to call.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
