Who Ranked Utah #1 State In The US?
Who says Utah is #1?
Well, it might surprise you, but it’s not the mixed soft drinks organization, nor is it the "Best Fry Sauce in the Nation" committee (though we’d probably win that too). No, no it is according to the US News and World Report. According to a study they have rated Utah at the top spot in the United States. Yeah, I know, we're not perfect, but we must be doing something right to get the gold medal.
The study, as complex as trying to find a parking spot at the St. George Costco on a Saturday, focused on over 70 metrics and thousands of data points to determine which states best serve their residents. And who came in at #1? None other than our very own Utah.
So, who else made the top five besides Utah?
2 - New Hampshire,
3 - Nebraska
4 - Minnesota
5 - Idaho.
Why did Utah win? Like we're explaining the rules off-roading to an LA Jeep owner let’s break it down. Utah ranked in the top 20 of seven of the eight categories and top three in three of them:
We snagged second place in education. Who knew our kids were such brainiacs?
Third in the economy. You know, just keeping the money flowing like sunscreen on a sunny day at the lake.
And third in infrastructure. Sure, we have some potholes, but at least our roads aren't as confusing as navigating a conversation about politics with northern Utah family members.
Other categories involved in the ranking included crime, health care, natural environment, fiscal stability, infrastructure, and opportunity. So, while we may have some quirks, Utah’s got the whole package. Who says so? For one the US News and World Report.
