One of those areas are the dining areas on a cruise ship. Recently John Heald, Carnival Brand Ambassador opened up about the divisive nature of dress codes on Facebook. How does Utah break generally accepted work dress codes? According to this survey we show too much skin.

Show too much skin? Did they think they were talking to Nevada?

One - Nevada also shows too much skin, so yes, they were also talking to Nevada

Two - Many of the hot states in the mid to southwest had the same problem so I think it must not be talking only about revealing outfits (which certainly are an issue), but shorts and minimal shirts at jobs where you would expect more formal wear.

Conveniently that is the same issue that cruise ships have in their fine dining, would be diners who show up in shorts and flip flops. Heald says they usually look the other way for being underdressed, but they do draw the line with diners who attempt to fine dine in swimsuits.

So maybe we keep that line of professionalism at our workplaces, you can come to work in shorts and a tank top, but please don’t show up in your swimsuit.
