Visit Unique Burned Out GHOST TOWN On Utah Nevada Line
Sometimes you visit a ghost town and all you see is foundations. This isn't true of Stateline that was in Iron County near the Nevada State line. The town was established in 1894 with the discovery of Gold and was gone by 1918.
Covered Mines and the Husks of Buildings
Stateline grew to 300 citizens when it was thriving. It had everything you would expect in an old west town including saloons, a school and general store. Then like so many mining towns, as the ore ran out, the town dried up.
You can visit Stateline on a weekend and see the buildings that remain. The mine shafts are covered with a metal grid to keep anyone from entering and getting hurt. There are several walls still standing and some older homes.
Fire Ripped Through what was Left
In 2020 a fire burned through what was left of Stateline. You can still see clearly where the inferno burned through. That doesn't mean you can't find old buildings to search through and there is plenty of rusty mining equipment.
In some of these old buildings it would be tempting to scan it using a metal detector Who knows what treasures might be under the dirt. It is also intriguing to gaze into the massive mine shafts.
