Valuable Treasures in Your Parent's Possessions
These are items you may have grown up with that you don't realize are worth a lot of money. Country Living did the research on many items that are valuable because of their age. Here's three that you should keep an eye out for.
Typewriters
Many people had one of these at home to write letters and maybe write a book. These old typewriters have become a collectors item and one that dates back to before 1940 that is in good condition may be worth hundreds of dollars.
Rotary Phones
It was common place to see a phone on the wall and so it is easy to discount an old rotary phone in a box. These continue to grow in value and a rare one can be worth more than you think. It might even be worth storing for another decade.
Board Games
Getting together and playing a game has become popular again and has helped boost the value of vintage games. If you have Monopoly game from the 1930s or even special editions, these can be worth money to collectors.
