Schools in Utah Receive Impressive Ranking
Back to School Blues—But Utah Softens the Blow
Let’s be honest: going back to school is a bit of a bummer. The alarm clocks return, the homework piles up, and the freedom of summer fades faster than a popsicle in July. At least we have good schools in Utah
But if we have to go back, at least we’re doing it in Utah—home to one of the best public-school systems in the country. That’s impressive, especially considering Utah spends less per student than almost any other state. It’s proof that smart spending and strong educators can go a long way.
I don’t like school, but I do enjoy learning
i heard a future student say the other day, "I don't like school, the smell of the classroom, freshly sharpened pencils or the stress of being tested, but I do enjoy learning." Utah seems to get that with teachers who help guide young minds to conclusions rather then just prepping them for exams. I mean they have to be doing something right to be ranked so high on the list.
So while the back-to-school season may come with groans and eye-rolls, it’s also a reminder that learning never really stops. And in Utah, at least we’re doing it in a place that’s getting it right.
