Really? New York is Luckier at Love Than Utah?
Maybe Utah isn’t as good at love as most of us think. Even though our state is well known for families and people having more kids and getting married younger than the average, a recent study has 12 states above Utah that are luckier at love.
Statistics Tell a Different Story
Usually, if you see a study that seems fishy, you can dig into the factors they looked at and see why the conclusion was reached. Digging into this index from Legal US Poker Sites only makes it more surprising.
One thing they looked at was the divorce rate. Utah is one of the higher statistics in the 50 states. That is probably due to the fact that more people get married in Utah at 9.9%, but it is weird to see New York’s divorce rate at almost half of Utah’s percentage.
Apparently Love is on the East Coast
They looked at the percentage of single people, how many have never been married, how many single people there are, and other similar statistics. It looks like Massachusetts is the place for love followed by New York and then New Jersey.
Rounding out the bottom are all states in the south and Midwest. It goes Mississippi, Aransas with Oklahoma at the bottom. Even though love doesn’t seem real lucky in these states, it seems like they would do better than New Jersey.

I don’t take any of this too seriously. Statistics can easily give you a distorted view. If you have found love no matter where you live, you are lucky.
