Pics from Staheli Family Farms Up & Away Balloon & Music Festival
It was a lot of fun Saturday morning to watch almost 2 dozen hot air balloons lift off from the fields at Staheli Family Farms. Lots of people showed up to watch and even more were stopped along the road to see what was going on.
I've never been to an event at Staheli Family Farms that I didn't like. Everything is done so well and it's so organized that everyone has fun.
Need to warm up by the fire for a minute?
I love to hear the crowd cheer with each balloon launch. When you are in the basket, there is almost no sense of "flying". It feels like the ground is just drifting away and you're in the same spot.
If you ever get a chance to fly in a hot air balloon, take it! My wife hates to fly. She hates airliners. She has never gone flying with me and I've had a pilot's license for 6 years but even she took a balloon flight a few years ago and is still glad she did.
What a cool hobby. And you meet the nicest people in the Hot Air Balloon community. It takes a big crew to pull off a launch from inflating the balloon, to holding it on the ground until you're really ready and gathering everything up when you are done.
