Are you still waiting by the door hoping that your expected Christmas package will arrive? Have you been sending subtle hints to the sender that you still have not seen the gift that they said they already sent? Are you starting to harbor feelings against your neighbors, the delivery drivers or even local pets for swiping it?

Here is a list of simple reasons to explain why your package has not arrived.

1. The sender is still “working on it,” which in Southern Utahn means they started thinking about maybe making a list of what they need to buy for a hand-crafted gift.

2. Your package made it to Cedar City but got stuck behind a Subaru going 32 mph down Black Ridge.

3. The delivery driver hid it “somewhere safe,” which apparently means under a juniper tree three miles from your house.

4. It was last seen at a St. George roundabout, where it has been circling helplessly since November.

5. A gust of wind in Hurricane picked it up and carried it to Denver, Colorado.

6. The sender’s family held a planning meeting about mailing it, but they got distracted talking about a family business they intend to someday create.

7. Your package was delayed because the driver stopped to take 47 photos of the sunset in beautiful Southern Utah.

8. The label melted off somewhere between Mesquite and St. George.

9. A well‑meaning neighbor saw the package, assumed it was a stray, and adopted it.

10. The driver tried to deliver it to your house but accidentally ended up in Colorado City and hasn’t been seen since.

11. Your package is stuck behind a herd of tourists trying to photograph a rare desert elk which ended up being just a cow.

12. It’s been rerouted through Beaver for reasons no one understands, including Beaver.

13. The driver left it “behind the rock,” which is not helpful in a region containing 14 million rocks.

Whatever the reason, you probably can't blame it on the ice this unseasonably warm year. Which the driver in the following video faced heroically.

We hope you had a great Christmas and that your rogue package will show up sooner than the new year.
