
New Registration Stickers in Utah Have Some Crying Stupid
If you have registered your car recently in Utah, you have noticed there are no longer two stickers, and the one is smaller. What seems like a small change is causing some angst on the internet.
Some Are Not Happy About the Change
A discussion on Reddit begins with someone saying the new stickers are a “step back”. They don’t like it that they are harder to see. Commenters noted that the color indicates the year, and you don’t need to read them.
Some of the concern is that the smaller sticker doesn’t fully cover the previous year’s stickers. The letter accompanying the new registration instructs the owner of the vehicle to scrape away the old stickers before applying the new one.
Whatever You Do, Don’t Throw Away the Registration
My wife works for a business that has a lot of company trucks. She has had employees toss the registration with the new sticker. When she went to the DMV to get a new one, she found there had been four people before her doing the same thing.
This must happen fairly often as there is a place on Utah.gov describing how to get a replacement. It is simple but it will cost you.
