Road construction in Utah is a year-round affair, but there are some places people should try to avoid as construction continues. 

People often travel to and from northern and southern Utah. It may be a bit of a drive but between visiting family members, work requirements, and sightseeing, the I-15 traffic is always going. There are a few places under heavy construction in Utah right now that will impact the easy drive.

Construction In Utah Impacting Traffic This Summer 

Springville/Spanish Fork Construction 

Construction crews are adding a new interchange on the I-15 at 1600 S/2700 N. This new project began in May and is expected to come to an end in September.

Nephi Road Construction  

Part of the new fiber optic additions in the state, SR-28 is going to be under construction for a while. There will be shoulder work and closures from now until possibly December 2025, depending on how long the project takes. There will also be truck traffic entering and exciting the area.  

Kanarraville Road Construction  

Heading north, drivers will see that construction crews are working on widening the I-15 at the Kanarraville rest stop. This project will also update Exit 51, the Hamilton Fort interchange. Construction began on June 15 and is expected to end in December 2025.  

These are just a few of the many projects ongoing in Utah right now. However, these could have traffic slowing down or moving depending on the area. So, be aware as you dive through Utah and stay safe!
