Getting something sweet and cold as the heat turns up in Utah is something that is on everyone’s mind.

Utah really loves its cold treats, and for good reason. Some of the local spots to grab ice cream or other cold sweet treats are phenomenal. Perhaps some of the best I have ever had honestly.

Best Local Cold Treats in Utah

Zeppe's Italian Ice

I’ll start off with a classic but Zeppe’s Italian Ice is AMAZING. Technically this isn’t ice cream but it's a unique spin on Italian ice that meshes creamy and refreshing. The soft custard with different Italian ice flavors really brings the whole thing together. I can say that the horchata flavor is my absolute favorite. I drag my friends there in the warmer months just for that.

Harmon’s Gelato

Anyone who has ever been to Harmon’s knows that the allure of the gelato case is very tempting. When you’re grocery shopping and it’s sweltering hot outside, Harmon’s has the perfect treat; gelato.

There are a few different flavors to try, and the best part is eating it while wandering around the aisles. It’s not talked about enough and definitely should be! Plus, coffee lovers can grab a drink since it's part of the cafe usually.

So, if you’re looking for a cold sweet treat that isn’t ice cream and want a local vibe, Zeppe’s or Harmon’s has got you covered.
