Utah is a place that fits many kinds of animal lovers, especially those who love cats.

The temperatures differ in parts of the state making it a great place to settle down no matter what needs your pet may have. Long hair? No problem because it gets cold up North. Short hair? Southern Utah gets hot so that’s not a problem.

Though many people may argue about cats or dogs being “better” the truth is that both are great additions to the right people and family. Cats usually tend to do their own thing but that doesn’t make them less loveable. They just need their space, like humans.

Utah even has a cat breed that it loves the MOST.

In 2022, Shane Co. did a study on Google searches in each state to find out how many people cared about cats per state, what breed of cat was being searched, and the most popular cat breeds in the U.S. overall.

The Most Popular Cat Breed in Utah

Though Utah isn’t the most cat-loving state, it falls somewhere in the middle of cat-obsessed and couldn’t care less. The beehive state has 2,788 searches related to cats in 2022.

Utahns searched the most for a unique cat breed, the American curl. This was not one of the most popular cat breeds overall but hey, Utah kept it unique. Our neighbors, Arizona and Nevada were a bit more on the trendy side. Arizona searched the most for the Sphynx breed while Nevada searched for the Peterbald.
