3 Utah Schools Awarded Blue Ribbon Status For 2024
Three Utah schools in Northern Utah have been awarded National Blue Ribbon status for the 2024 school year.
The National Blue-Ribbon Schools status is given out by the U.S. Department of Education and recognizes academic excellence and bridging gaps between diverse student populations, the UDOE said.
Each year, elementary, middle and high schools are looked at for the award across the country. This year, three of Utah's schools were awarded the coveted status.
Bella Vista School
Located in the Cottonwood Heights area, this elementary school has a diverse student population with only 67% being white. Bella Vista implements a variety of training protocols for its staff like the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.
Edgemont Elementary School
This Provo, UT school has also showed its academic excellence through emphasis on its STEM program and individualized learning, the school said. It also boasts a French-immersion program to prepare students to take on different cultures and world aspects.
River Heights Elementary School
This elementary school said its successful curriculum comes from collaboration and a family-feel environment for staff and students alike. River Heights Elementary is always evolving its curriculum to be better for student success by implementing new ideas and programs.
Utah may be on the lower end of the number of schools awarded National Blue Ribbon status, but that just means there is room to grow for the 2025 school year. Congrats to all the schools that were honored in Utah and across the nation for being the best of the best.
