Iron County Home Builders Festival Of Homes Starts This Weekend
If you are looking to see the latest in home building trends, innovative design, and inspiration for a future home building project, the next two weekends you should make plans to spend time roaming around cedar City and the surrounding area.
It's time for the 2024 Festival of Homes presented by the Iron County Home Builders Association. The Festival will run on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the next two weekends, along with Labor Day, Monday, September 2nd. The hours are from Noon to 7:00PM each day.
Ryan Talbot is the Executive Officer for the association, and he was on the radio with us, and told us there was a lot to take in with this years festival, including the largest number of homes to be on display.
“18 is the most we've ever had and we were really close to having twenty couple had to back out at the for different circumstances. But yeah, so this one it's going to be a great show,” Talbot said. Along with that, Talbot told us the largest home ever to be in the festival will be this year. Homes range in size from, “1400 square feet is the smallest one. It's a duplex all the way to 11,000 square foot plus home. I'm sure that's the biggest entry we've ever had,” according to Talbot.
And while many of the homes will be in the Cedar City vicinity, festival participants will have ample opportunities to see homes in other communities, and even homes in two other counties. “We've got a lot of amazing homes this year. There are homes up on the mountain, Brianhead up just past Duck Creek at Elk Ridge. We even have one in Hatch this year that might throw people for a little bit of a loop.” The first home on the festival is up in Duck Creek, which is in Kane County. Home number two is the one in the community of Hatch which is in Garfield County and according to Talbot, it is the first time the festival has had an entry from that county.
Talbot said they have been building excitement about the festival through social media. “People have probably noticed, but our social media marketers have been going crazy. I've had more ticket sales pre-sales than I've ever had before. So I think there's a lot of excitement around this show and the different homes that are in there. We've involved our builders in that social media push.”
And Talbot mentioned that there are builders putting homes in the festival for the first time. “We have, I believe, five first time home builders with entries in the show, so that's great to see that. Again, what we're talking about (is) the the growth in Iron County, we've got some builders from out of town. For example, home number 12, Roots builders, they're out of Lehi.”
Tickets for the Festival of Homes are available now at all branches of State Bank of Southern Utah, the Coldwell Banker office in Cedar City. Tickets can also be purchased online at FestivalOfHomes.com.You can also get tickets by downloading the free Festival of Homes app from the App Store of through Google Play.
Talbot left us with some good advice for those contemplating trying to take in all the homes. “You want to might want to make this to stretch out for if not a day or two, but stretch it out over the two weekends. So you can really get in and and and get a great look at these homes that are are available.”
