With Region 9 football season right around the corner, let’s take a quick peak into what we can look forward to this upcoming year by understanding where these teams were a season ago.

Today we look at the Snow Canyon Warriors.

Last year’s Biggest run:

All 4 of the Warriors wins last season were a byproduct of separate two-game winning streaks.

The first came when the end of the preseason and the beginning of region play mixed with the Warriors dispatching Centennial, Nevada on September 6th and then winning in Iron County over the Reds 21-14.

The second instance was the finale of the regular season with a 21-16 thriller over Pine View, followed up by a first round win in the postseason after handling Murray 27-7.

Last year’s end result:

Snow Canyon ended the season as the #19 seed in the playoff bracket with 3 wins to their name.

Despite the regular season struggles, the Warriors rallied to put the beating on #14 Murray in the first round with a convincing 20 point win over the Spartans for their 4th victory of the year.

The Warriors run would end the very next week against eventual champion and Region 9 foe, Crimson Cliffs, in a 35-20 2nd round defeat at the hands (hoofs) of the Mustangs.

Snow Canyon was favored in all 4 victories last year even including the seeding upset over Murray.

That said, all three of Cedar, Pine view and Murray were given the “edge” as the underdog, something Snow Canyon was able to disprove.

All 4 Warrior wins were on the road.

Consecutive Streak:

Snow Canyon saw 9 straight games last year from the first week of September to the end of the season where they had at least one defender with 9 or more tackles.

7 of those 9 games featured at least one defender with double digit tackles.

1st game of the 2025 season:

At Spanish Fork on August 15th.

The Warriors get a fantastic litmus test as they do battle with the 4A runner-ups to start the new year.

With decent returning production the Warriors are a true wild card coming into next season, not to be overlooked.

An excellent preseason schedule will have this team battle tested and ready come Region 9 play.
