The year was 2021 when recently retired NBA Legend shocks the basketball community when he announces that he's a minority owner of the Utah Jazz basketball team. Wade played in the NBA for 16 years for 3 different teams, but most everybody knows him as the greatest Miami Heat player in franchise history. Wade was reportedly in talks with Miami Heat owner about becoming a minority owner for his former team. That all changed when Wade announced he was now an owner for the Jazz.

When Dwyane Wade (or D-Wade) jumped into ownership of the Jazz, the team was valued at $1.75 Billion. Wade made the right choice. Now, a little over three years later, the Jazz are now valued at over $3.46 Billion! That's almost DOUBLE in under 5 years. Pretty unheard of in the world of sports ownership. What's even crazier is, shortly after buying into ownership, the Jazz sold off all their players and have been one of the worst teams in the league the past two years. Usually when teams get WORSE, the value doesn't reach double!

“Partnering with Ryan and the Utah Jazz is the perfect fit as we share the same vision and values,” said Wade per The Sporting News. “Not only is this group focused on building a championship franchise, but they are also committed to using their platform to do good and actively create a more inclusive, equitable world. We share a lot of the same goals and are trying to go to the same places in life.”
