If you're on social media at all, you will see a theme of everyone worried about a government takeover. Well it's true. Everything you've heard. It's ALL true.

First it was our phones. I remember the first time my phone was in my pocket, and I was talking to my friend about a particular subject and then all of the sudden that exact subject or item popped up in my social media feed and google search ads. The second time it happened it freaked me out a little. Was no longer a coincidence. Then I guess we just all got over it. I guess we've been groomed?

After the personal cell phone breach of privacy, then it was Alexa. Remember all the hubbub?  Alexa is a speaker and a microphone in your home and it's seemingly always on. "The government/FBI will know everything!" That can totally be creepy. But most of us figure our lives are too boring for anyone to actually want to tune in. And we let it go.

Does the government want to rule all of us? Of course it does, or we wouldn't have career politicians at all.

It would be a major burden to serve the US populace, instead of making hundreds of thousands/millions of dollars using all the citizens as guinea pigs. Good people would serve, as our ancestors meant from the beginning, and then return exhausted to their own lives.

But I digress.

There's also some really cool things that come from technology. Dude, did you know I can call someone all the way around the world on my cell phone? If you think about it for even 2 seconds, it's pretty incredible. We can also connect with all of our high school friends in a matter of minutes on any social media platform. We can find like-minded people in groups on social media and get answers to any question in a second, using the world wide web.

With all the AI stuff out there, I think we're getting smarter and keener on spotting what's real and what's not. Plus have you tried to use Chat GPT? I have, and it blatantly lied. And when I pointed that out, Chat GPT actually apologized to me. It was hilarious.
To summarize it up, technology is what we allow it to be. If you don't like it and don't want to keep up with it, don't use it. If you want to stay relevant and know how to use all the latest and greatest gadgets and technology, look for the good in it. And don't let it take over your life. You are actually still in control. Weed out the stuff that is negative and the stuff that drives you crazy. (Just like you need to in your real life.)  Now, go forth and have a fantastic day. Use your power wisely.
