Amazing Ways Our Bodies Could Adapt To Future Desert Challenges
The Future Look of Human Beings
What are we going to look like in the future? This video highlights some crazy ideas proposing what changes we might see in our future from reactions to future physics to human discovery like bionics. It is a fun mental sandbox to play in, but like me you might be resistant to the idea that we will be that different.
Evolution or favoritism
If you believe we are evolving as a species these ideas are probably easier to digest because you expect outside variables to affect human beings. If not, it might help to think of physical attributes that we have fallen in and out of favor in history. An easy example can be seen from history when in the mid 1500s Peter Paul Rubens illustrated what is now known as the Rubenesque models. This age fancied larger bodies in part because it highlighted individuals that were well nourished at a time when food was at a premium.

Switch the sitch and now we see fat as a sign of poor nutrition and lack of physical activity. The ideal has shifted to lean and muscle born where consuming balanced nutrients, hitting the gym have become signs of success. We even describe these individuals as, "taking care of themselves".
How Will Our Preferences Shift In Our Future?
So, maybe if we apply the rules from above and survival is a premium the no neck look will start to be more attractive to us, what if hunched backs, as they show more competence in the digital world, work on our psyches and make us like that more?

If you are on board with this idea what might be looking for in our communities? Umbrella style heads could give the body some shade in the summer, imagine veinier muscles to cool our bodies more effectively, or thick foot pads that evolve to help us stand on blistering pavement. If we keep living in this desert climate, we might be the first to start to see changes.
