Navajo Skies Hold Stories Of Lights And Holy Visitors From Generations Past

Right now there is a lot of UFO talk with the government releasing files of unexplained lights in the sky. It makes you wonder if people have always seen these things. Wally Brown with Navajo Traditional Teachings said his people have similar stories.

The Navajo Perspective on Unexplained Lights

Utah and the southwest has been a place where many of these unexplained sightings have occurred. Did the people who have lived here much longer, like the Navajo, see these things in the past?

Brown tells of the stories handed down by the Navajo people, or the Diné as they call themselves. He says they do describe lights in the sky they couldn't explain and there are stories of visitors who contacted them at different times.

These are never first hand accounts. "It is always someone saw something," says Brown. "Always observed by other people." He goes on to say these accounts are always attributed to the holy people who first gave their people wisdom.

Celestial Encounters: The Moon and the Northern Lights

There are stories of where some were taken to the surface of the moon and they give an account of what it looks like. Other's describe the northern lights and bright flashes from the sun. These they described as different forms of lightening.

He also points out what looks like space ships carved into the rock as petroglyphs. Brown says they were trying to give an account of what they saw. Once again these were described as visits from the holy people.

What is interesting is that these unexplained encounters the government describes today have been going on since ancient times. If these are alien encounters, you have to wonder, what the point of these never ending visits?
