Congratulations to Sandra who guessed the correct word!

This coming Friday, January 2nd, John & Dave will give away $100 cash on Star 98 thanks to the good folks at Grass Creek Construction. We are playing a game very similar to "Wordle" except different because it is on the radio.

(Please don't hit us for a trademark violation New York Times)

Guess the Word and Win the Cash

This is how Wordle works. There is a grid with five boxes across and six rows of them. You try to guess a five letter word in six tries. The first thing you do is put in a five letter word. This video shows what happens next.

If you have a letter in the correct place for the hidden word, it turns green. If you have a correct letter but not in the right place, it turns yellow. Letters can be used more than once in the word.

We will begin playing at 7:10 AM during the morning show on Star 98 with John & Dave. Each break we will take a caller who will guess a word. The caller who gets through and figures out the hidden word wins the cash.

How It Will Sound On-Air

JnD: Let's start the game. We need someone to call 435-986-9899 right now with a 5-lettr word.

Caller: How about "water".

JnD: Okay, that is a good first guess. The "e" is part of the word we are looking for but it is in the wrong place. Thank you for calling. We will update the article on the app and take another guess in two songs.

Check back to this article where you can see the words that have been guessed and what letters are correct. We will also keep you up to speed live on-air. Thanks again to the owners of Wordle for not suing us.
