Car show at the Fairgrounds

I think the only kind of show I like better than car shows would be an air show. I’m an airplane nut but the car nut in me comes out now and then and off we go to see another. I knew there was one this weekend and thought it was part of the balloon and music festival at Staheli Family Farms. No cars there but I remembered hearing something about the fair grounds.  

Now we’re talking! I could do this for hours. Wait. I just did. The longest year of my life so far was the year I turned 15 because it seemed to take forever waiting to turn 16 and start driving. I’ve owned what I thought were some semi-cool cars over the years. A 1970 Pontiac GTO was my first car ever. I had a tricked out ‘83 Mustang but they were NOTHING like these. Wow. Come along with me and I’ll show you around.

The guy who owns this treated himself with this incredible Corvette on his 80th birthday.  Maybe I'll get a chance to do that someday. I think even if I leave the turn signal on for miles, I'd still look cool in this.  WOW.  What a cool car.    Those are his initials above the gas cap.  Nice touch.

Even this Jeep caught my eye in the parking lot on my way to my car.  LOVE that.

My wife has a pretty cool Mustang that I look after.  It's black and shows every water spot and every speck of dirt but when it's cleaned up (and it's ALWAYS cleaned up) it looks cool.  And fast.  I did find out that if you floor it on a morning where there's some dew on the road, it will turn sideways faster than I ever imagined.  Yes, I did return her car to her unharmed.  For a minute there, it was pointed into a diner.  Oops.
