Animals as Guardians Against Evil

The Catholic church has certain rites to cast unclean spirits out of houses and people. A Chief Exorcist joined a podcast to talk about his experiences. At one point he describes how a man called him and said his family's new house was infested with demons.

When he went to the house, he found the whole family was sleeping in the master bedroom and their dog positioned itself in front of the door and would growl and bark when it sensed something coming.

He said he thinks animals can feel when something evil is near and will react. There is no official stance on animals sensing evil spirits from the Catholic church or any other denominations, but there are many stories about it.
