5 Things Your Southern Utah Man Yearns For

When gift giving holidays roll around, I am not easy to shop for. As is the case with most guys my age, we have already purchased everything we want. If I need a tool or a toy, I just go buy it. But that’s not totally true. There are some things most guys would love to have and the only reason I would never buy it is that it makes no sense and costs too much. 

Here’s five things most guys here in Southern Utah would secretly love to have: 

Backhoe: My friend Ameen asked for one of these for his 18th birthday. He's always casually asking, "Hey, you want to use my backhoe?" So awesome to have a backhoe whenever you need it. I would even take one of the smaller versions just to dig random holes in my yard.

Private Lake: It could even be a private pond. Just a body of water that I could stock with fish and build a cool dock.

Farm Tractor: It doesn't need to be one of those big combine tractors, just the basic machine. I could head out on Saturday wearing overalls and plow something.

Bear: I'm talking about a bear as a friend. Maybe raise it as a cub. When I need a really big hug, he's always there. Plus you would be known as the bear guy.

Off-road Survival Vehicle: Probably put a cot and a stove inside with a basic shower and toilet. On weekends or when the world looks bleak, I would just head out into the Arizona Strip.

This probably would not be a good idea to get any of these things as the maintenance alone would be a hassle. I would surely live to regret picking up bear size poop from my yard, although, that would be a lot easier with a backhoe...
